Thanks to ongoing support from the Schwinghammer family, we today saw the christening of five new boats into the Grafton Rowing Club fleet.
The five new boats are all from Australian manufacturer Sykes, and are for the use of school and lightweight women rowers. The boats are:
- a coxed four/quad scull
- a coxless four/quad scull
- a pair/double scull
- two single sculls
The support given by the Schwinghammer family also included training and certification of eight coaches, as well as training and licensing of boat drivers.
It was also great to see a number of rowers from years gone by attending the christening ceremony.
