GRAFTON IS THE WINNER !
Out of the 12 Trophies, GRC has taken out 8 of the first placings - our beloved President had to take the trophies home in his ute, and trailer.
Everyone should be congratulated - it was a great season - GRC vet's were always closely contested by the proficient Murwillumbah squad.
Just by the by, last season saw GRC Vet's take out the Vet's Trophy 'Toilet seat" with about 10 vet's - mens only crews - this year has seen some 25 odd Vet crews contest the points, including a women's crew - woo hoo! It was great to see a GRC Vet ladies crews out there on the water after an absence of some 8 years or so. Also on the come-back scene is GRC club Captain Ken and President Greg who have joined in to enable the newcomers the privilege of their rowing expertise.
GRC younger members have also done extremely well, taking out the Youth Premiership and the GHS also doing well with 3rd place in the Junior Premiership
The precedent is set - ready to take on the ranks again next season, and Grafton will set its goal to be 12 out of 12

LEARNERS
Learners
of a Saturday have been a little slow since the 2 floods, but we are still getting boats out on the water each Saturday, so
bring a friend along. Remember, it's a low impact sport, with great benefits for fitness and
it's fun.
First lesson is free for an hour or so - after that it is a mere $5.00 a session, which is deducted from your membership
RULES OF THE RIVER
Always have land close to you, just in case you do go for a dip - while heading west, row past the Crown, then cross over to Susan Island for your homeward trip and if you are heading down river (East), you row over near South Grafton Club, and back over to Macauley College side for the home journey, and now that the days are getting darker quicker, we need to put the lights on the boats for more safety and abide by Water ways regulations
DIP AWARD
Seems everyone is balancing the boats well, so no dip award this month, plus the weather is starting to cool down, so there is incentive to stay in the boats
