Grafton Rowing Club Fleet

The Grafton Rowing Club fleet includes a full variety of boats for all levels of recreational rowing, training and competition.

 Whilst a few timber boats are still used, most boats are of more modern construction with fibreglass in some training boats and kevlar, carbon and honeycomb in other boats.

There are also a few timber oars in the shed, but all oars and sculls in regular use are of carbon construction. Several older oars have the "spoon" design, but those in regular use are of the "cleaver" design.

Several ergometers are also housed in the boatshed.

The shed currently houses boats of various ages, from an original clinker skiff (left - housed in our museum) to the latest racing sculls (right). Boats from various builders including George Towns, Sargent & Burton, Turner, Carmody Rowing, KIRS, Sykes, Ted Hale, W&M, Race 1, Ausrowtec and Euro are housed in the boatshed. One of our fours was originally built for the Oarsome Foursome and was even signed on the bow deck by the boys.
